I’ve been reading about how to get a Maps API key for development and production for an Android app I am working on in Titanium Mobile. I am successfully testing my app running the Android SDK in Ti (and the Kitchen Sink app). The KS properly displays maps in the Simulator, but my app does not since I have not yet obtains a Maps API key from Google.

I do not have the documented file/directory for Mac OS X for this key:

To generate an MD5 fingerprint of the debug certificate, first locate the debug keystore. By default, build tools create the debug keystore in the active AVD directory. The location of the AVD directories varies by platform:

  • OS X and Linux: ~/.android/debug.keystore

I have a ~/.android directory, but no debug.keystore, nor could I find it anywhere on my system. Do I have to create this manually? If so, how?

  • The answer is here:

    /Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/OS CODE/SDK VERSION/android/dev_keystore

Took me a while to find it.
